Après-ski aficionados now have another reason to keep their boots on long after the lifts close, as Snowmass’s Lynn Britt cabin (accessed via the Village Express lift) launched an on-mountain happy hour mid-February. Every Friday to Sunday through the end of the ski season, revelers can enjoy charcuterie plates ($14) and Quebeçois-inspired poutine ($12) with gin-and-juice cocktails from local Woody Creek Distillers ($6) while grooving to tunes from DJ Naka G or kicking it around the outdoor fire pit. Sessions start at 2 p.m., so pace yourself. Active nocturnal types (and we’re not talking snowcat drivers) will appreciate the new full-moon dinners at Buttermilk’s top-of-mountain Cliffhouse restaurant February 22 and March 23. There’s no lift or vehicular access, so come prepared to ascend and descend under your own power—and don’t forget your headlamp. Skin, snowshoe, or hike up the designated route on Buttermilk’s Tiehack side, then enjoy free hot chocolate or a drink from the cash bar outside by the fire before heading in for Asian-inspired snacks like dim sum ($10) and samosas ($5) alongside entrees such as Mongolian BBQ ($18) or pho ($15).
