A newly refurbished living area in a Viceroy guest room.

The Little Nell Aspen

Renovated: Entryway, lobby, living room, Chair 9 bar

Designer: Champalimaud Design, New York City. Principal Alexandra Champalimaud has worked on iconic hotels like the Pierre, the Carlyle, the Dorchester, and the Fairmont

The goal: Create a better sense of place

Essential elements: Sculptural references in furniture and accessories that echo the Nell’s commitment to showcasing fine art; a mix of woods in Chair 9 that creates a luxury cabin vibe

Cool custom piece: Walnut-and-bronze screens between the reception area and living room inspired by Harry Bertoia’s vertical sound sculptures

A guest bedroom at the Viceroy

The Viceroy Snowmass Village

Renovated: All guest rooms and Viceroy Residences

Designer: Studio Lambiotte, Denver. Principal Anna Lambiotte grew up in Snowmass Village (she can see her family house from the Viceroy) and designs high-end residential interiors; this is her firm’s first hotel project

The goal: Create a space that feels more like a home than a hotel

Essential elements: Mountain-inspired furnishings that combine timeless elements with a contemporary twist, like custom live-edge wood coffee tables with clear acrylic legs

Cool custom piece: A painting of Mount Daly, Snowmass’s iconic peak, commissioned from Basalt artist Tania Dibbs; prints of it hang in most of the rooms
