On May 5, Thunder River Theatre Company (TRTC) was off to the races at its sold-out 2018 Derby Day Gala at the Orchard in Carbondale. Guests dressed to the nines in their best oversized and decorated hats, floral dresses, and jockey-inspired garb.
Â
Festivities included mint juleps from Marble Distilling Co.; a silent auction; Derby-inspired hors d’oeuvres and dinner prepared by Chef Jimmy Nadell; a live paddle raise benefiting TRTC’s programs, with a matching challenge gift from Integrated Mountain Group; and a Running of the Ponies fundraising game.
Â
Entertainment and revelry were provided by TRTC’s Consensual Improv! comedy troupe and Diva Cabaret singers, while Alpine Bank was chosen as this year’s honoree of TRTC’s Community Partner Award.Â
