Sweet Park, Small Package

At just over 4,000 square feet, Aspen’s puniest park, located at Third and Bleeker Streets, is surrounded on four sides by a Victorian wrought-iron fence, with a full spectrum of summertime colors—rose bushes, blossoming bright yellow daffodils, lupines—glowing in all four corners. Pushing open the gate (we promise this isn’t someone’s backyard) reveals a stone path leading to a white gazebo surrounded by pink, orange, and yellow tulips. Only large enough for a party of four, it would be a perfect place for an intimate rainy-day picnic. Don’t like feeling so closed in? Follow the stone path to the left, where three towering sugar pines provide a sheltered yet open-air vibe, complete with picnic table and benches. If you have always longed for a secluded spot in Aspen’s historic West End, Pioneer Park is the perfect fit for everything from early morning yoga to a lazy afternoon hang with the dogs—poop bags included on site.
