Jing Editor’s Pick
Formerly Asie, this long-standing spot underwent a thorough renovation that added a beautiful sushi bar and raw bar, as well as a new name. The menu still includes small plates and dim sum, plus signature dishes like ginger-miso–glazed whole fish, Kobe beef on the rocks, and delectably crispy Peking duck (roasted daily for several hours, so you’ll need to reserve in advance).
Beloved for his original approach to Asian dining, Chef Frank Lu’s techniques and artistry are showcased in signature dishes such as roasted Peking duck, 13-flavor lobster, and ginger-miso-glazed whole fish. New-style jalapeño sashimi, sea urchin, toro tartare with caviar, miso Chilean sea bass, softshell crab tempura, and Kobe beef on the rocks demonstrate Chef Frank’s command of globally inspired and innovative Asian fare. Shareable small plates please everyone’s palate; standouts include Shanghai soup dumplings, duck rice paper rolls, lobster dumplings with coconut sauce, and spicy baby octopus with black bean sauce.
Chef Frank began his career in hospitality and restaurant service at age 18, training in a five-star hotel in Shanghai. Today, after more than 25 years in the hospitality industry, Chef Frank has cultivated a passion for international cuisine. Locals know to ask Chef Frank to prepare a special seasonal menu of his choice, which he will do upon request.
Located on the corner of Main and Mill streets, Jing is a mainstay of the Aspen dining scene.
