Make a Saturday night of the 2nd Annual Marble Throwdown in Carbondale.
Our latest #AspenWeekendAgenda has plenty of free events to take advantage of, along with special film screenings at the Limelight Hotel, Pitkin County Library, and the Crystal Theatre. Kick off the weekend with a pint of Pliny the Elder at Hops Culture and, in between happenings, duck into any of the 14 spots in town offering discounted dining deals this month. Local’s Treat Tap Takeover
3 p.m.–close, Hops Culture
Welcome winter at Hops Culture as the bar and restaurant reopens for the season with three special tap takeovers from Bell’s Brewery in Michigan and Russian River Brewing’s limited-edition (and always highly anticipated) Pliny the Elder.

Calling of the Snow Party
4–7 p.m., Sky Hotel
Plead to Ullr, the Nordic god of winter, to deliver snow onto Aspen Mountain for the start of ski season by reciting chants and performing snow dances while enjoying $4 drafts, $6 cocktails, snow cones with flavored beverages, and half-price bar bites from 39 Degrees Lounge. Sky Hotel will donate a portion of the proceeds to the ULLR “Ski for Light” Foundation, which provides specialized sports equipment to people with disabilities.

Hard Snow Film Festival

Make it a weekend of wishful watching for snow while taking in the many faces of backcountry adventure through a documentary lineup from amateur and professional filmmakers. Now in its second year, Hard Snow was founded by fifth-generation Aspenite, mountaineer, and filmmaker Mike Marolt as a benefit for Aspen Alpine Club’s Nepal Relief Fund, following the devastating earthquake in 2015.

Marble Throwdown

This second annual off-season, off-menu cocktail competition takes tasters on a tour through downtown Carbondale as local bartenders from Town, Phat Thai, Allegria, Mi Casita Carbondale, and Carbondale Beer Works create signature cocktails up for popular vote and a spot on Marble Distilling Co.'s winter menu. Registration for a punch pass and ballot begins at noon at the distillery.

Roaring Fork Women’s Tri Team Presents TRI

This special benefit shares the true story of a young woman moved by the cancer patients she works with to complete her first triathlon. Proceeds from the screening will benefit the scholarship fund of the Roaring Fork Women's Triathlon Team and Organic Health Response Navigator Program, the team's global sisterhood project on Mfangano Island in Kenya.
