Friday, February 17

Bud Light Street Rail Fridays
2 p.m., Snowmass Mountain
Every Friday, athletes showcase their creativity and skills in an urban-inspired rail garden on Fanny Hill for cash prizes and giveaways. The “Little Jibbers” competition lets kids under the age of 12 show off their best moves. Free to spectate, $20 to compete, aspensnowmass.com

4 p.m., Explore Booksellers

Ullr Nights 
5 p.m., Snowmass Mountain
Bundle up and ride the Snowmass gondola to some family-friendly snow play, including lift-served tubing ($34 per hour; reserve in advance), free ice skating, free snowshoe tours, snowbiking ($69 guided rides for ages 12 and up, free minibikes for younger kids), and climbing on a massive snow sculpture. Elk Camp restaurant serves dinner with live music, followed by s’mores and hot cocoa by the bonfire.

Artist Talk: Laura Owens
5 p.m., Aspen Art Museum
Join the 2016-17 commissioned Aspen Snowmass lift ticket artist for a discussion about her work, which has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the CCA Wattis, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Kunsthalle Zürich, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Free, aspenartmuseum.org 

Aspen Words Youth Poetry Slam
6:30 p.m., Third Street Center, Carbondale
This annual project brings the written and spoken arts alive for middle and high school students across the Roaring Fork Valley and culminates with a live performance of their original poetry. Free, aspenwords.org 

Abba Mania
7:30 p.m., Wheeler Opera House
Attention ABBA fans old and new: Abba Mania, hot off a run in London’s West End, is heading straight for Aspen to perform all the old favorites. $50, wheeleroperahouse.com

4th Annual Family Hoedown
3–7 p.m., Cozy Point Ranch 

Come on down to Cozy Point for the Aspen and Carbondale Community Schools' annual fundraiser for its award-winning, innovative K-8 public charter schools. Aspen Santa Fe Ballet
7:30 p.m., Aspen District Theatre
Aspen’s local but internationally known dance company premieres a highly anticipated commissioned piece by Los Angeles–based choreographer Cherice Barton, known for her work with artists like Katy Perry and on Broadway and Las Vegas productions. Ski for the Pass
