Ullr Nights
5 p.m., Snowmass Mountain
Bundle up and ride the Snowmass gondola to some family-friendly snow play, including lift-served tubing ($34 per hour; reserve in advance), free ice skating, free snowshoe tours, snowbiking ($69 guided rides for ages 12 and up, free minibikes for younger kids), and climbing on a massive snow sculpture. Elk Camp restaurant serves dinner with live music, followed by s’mores and hot cocoa by the bonfire. $10 (gondola ride), gosnowmass.com

Opening Reception of Incandenscence: Glass & Encaustic Works
6-8 p.m., The Launchpad Carbondale
Celebrate the opening of this new collection of encaustic paintings by artist and designer Erin Rigney as well as nine Roaring Fork Valley glass artists curated by Robert Burch, who will also display his new glass and metal series titled 'Material Studies.' Free, carbondalearts.com 

Aspen Laugh Festival

This seventh annual fest of funny has quite possibly its best lineup yet, with headline performances from Saturday Night Live alum Kevin Nealon and “agent provocateur of stand-up” Margaret Cho. $60, aspenshowtix.com

The Tempest
7:30 p.m., Lon Winston Theatre
Thunder River Theatre Company (TRTC) brings William Shakespeare’s final play to the Carbondale stage with a talented cast of local actors on weekends through March 11. $15-$30,  thunderrivertheatre.com

Movies at the Museum
7 p.m., Aspen Art Museum
Explore the artistic process through a first-hand look at the life and works of Cai Guo-Qiang in Sky Ladder directed by Kevin Macdonald. Known for his spectacular pyrotechnic displays, the Chinese artist creates his most ambitious and perhaps personal project yet in this breathtaking documentary. Free, aspenartmuseum.org

Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering
6 a.m. start at Snowmass Mountain (professional), 8 a.m. start at Aspen Highlands (recreational)
This premier endurance race series utilizes the unique terrain of each of the four Aspen Snowmass mountains and tests the limits and skills of both elite and recreational athletes. Registration is closed, but keep an eye out for these racers on the slopes. aspensnowmass.com

Arte en Español

Drawing on the wealth of Spanish speakers in the Roaring Fork Valley, the museum presents an afternoon of activities for all ages, entirely in Spanish.
