Friday Morning Uphill Breakfast Club
8:45–10 a.m., Cliffhouse Restaurant, Buttermilk

New this year, uphill skiers are able to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant after hiking up the mountain every Friday. The Cliffhouse breakfast will be available for purchase with coffee, tea and hot chocolate, an oatmeal and yogurt station featuring dry quick oats in a mason jar and a toppings bar filled with healthy add-ons. Two hot breakfast options will also be available. $12 (hot items), $8 (oatmeal bar), aspensnowmass.com

History Ski Tour
11 a.m. & 1 p.m., Aspen Mountain

Learn about the amazing mining and ski history lying literally beneath your feet as you tour Aspen Mountain with a long time local historian. Meets at Guest Services cabin below the gondola at the top. Free with lift ticket ($94), aspenhistory.org 

Ullr Nights
5–9 p.m., Snowmass

Bundle up and ride the Snowmass gondola ($10) to some family-friendly snow play, including the new Breathtaker mountain coaster and lift-served tubing ($49 for a two-hour activities pass to access both; reserve in advance), free ice skating, free snowshoe tours with a guide from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (6 and 7:30 p.m.), snowbiking ($72 guided rides for ages 12 and up, free minibikes for younger kids), and climbing and sliding on a massive snow sculpture. Library Cinema: Faces Places
7:30 p.m., Pitkin County Library

Agnès Varda and JR have things in common: a passion for and the exploration of images in general, and more precisely, for places and for ways of showing, sharing, and exhibiting them. Agnès chose cinema. JR chose to create open air photography galleries. When Agnès and JR met in 2015, they immediately wanted to work together, to shoot a film in France, far from cities, during a trip in JR's photographic (and magical) truck. Through chance encounters and prepared projects, they reached out to others, listening to them, photographing them, and sometimes putting them on posters. This film also tells the story of Agnès and JR's friendship, which grew stronger throughout the film shoot, between surprises and teasing, and while laughing about their differences. $10 (free popcorn included!), pitcolib.org

Red Hot Patriot: The Kick Ass Wit of Molly Ivins

The hit play depicting the life of Molly Ivins, the brassy Texan reporter whose liberal journalism skyrocketed her to the national stage comes to the local stage. From writing Elvis Presley’s New York Times obituary to becoming the most widely-read self-proclaimed “pain in the ass to whatever powers come to be,” Ivins, often described as a modern-day Mark Twain, made rabid fans and enemies alike with her sharp-tongued humor and unabashed political criticism. Thomas Troisgros Guest Chef Dinner
6–10 p.m., Element 47

Chef Thomas Troisgros, of Rio de Janeiro’s Olympe, a 1 Michelin-star restaurant named one of the Top 100 World’s Best Restaurants and 17th on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, will take over element 47 at The Little Nell for a one-night only, five-course dinner. Thomas is a fourth generation chef in the Troisgros family, a revolutionary name in contemporary gastronomy from France to Brazil. When he was just ten years old, he spent a season in France with his grandfather Pierre. Winter Jazz Party
