Winter Bike to Work Day
7-10 a.m., Paepcke Park & 6:30-9 a.m., Carbondale Park & Ride

Intrepid cyclists who hit the streets on Winter Bike to Work Day are invited to visit stations in Carbondale or Aspen that day for free coffee, snacks and swag, plus winter biking tips and RFTA bus schedules. The two Winter Bike to Work Day events are presented by RFTA, Garfield Clean Energy, City of Aspen, CLEER, Why Cycles and Defiant Pack. Winter Bike to Work Day is a global event. Free, rfta.com

Friday Morning Uphill Breakfast Club
8:45–10 a.m., Cliffhouse Restaurant, Buttermilk

New this year, uphill skiers are able to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant after hiking up the mountain every Friday. The Cliffhouse breakfast will be available for purchase with coffee, tea and hot chocolate, an oatmeal and yogurt station featuring dry quick oats in a mason jar and a toppings bar filled with healthy add-ons. Two hot breakfast options will also be available. $12 (hot items), $8 (oatmeal bar), aspensnowmass.com

History Ski Tour
11 a.m. & 1 p.m., Aspen Mountain

Learn about the amazing mining and ski history lying literally beneath your feet as you tour Aspen Mountain with a long time local historian. Meets at Guest Services cabin below the gondola at the top. Free with lift ticket ($94), aspenhistory.org 

Ullr Nights
5–9 p.m., Snowmass

Bundle up and ride the Snowmass gondola ($10) to some family-friendly snow play, including the new Breathtaker mountain coaster and lift-served tubing ($49 for a two-hour activities pass to access both; reserve in advance), free ice skating, free snowshoe tours with a guide from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (6 and 7:30 p.m.), snowbiking ($72 guided rides for ages 12 and up, free minibikes for younger kids), and climbing and sliding on a massive snow sculpture. Retro Film Series: Decades of Skiing Aspen/Snowmass
5:30 p.m., Limelight Hotel

Join Aspen Historical Society for this new series that explore skiing’s illustrious past in the Aspen/Snowmass area featuring a wide range of vintage films from the AHS archives. Spanning four decades, the visual histories bring retro skiing to life on the big screen with food and beverage specials that may be enjoyed during the screenings. $10 suggested donation at the door, aspenhistory.org 

Aspen Laugh Fest Open Mic Night

Test your mettle against the greats as the Wheeler Opera House kicks off the Aspen Laugh Festival (February 20-24, 2018) with local talent in a one-night-only Open Mic Night! This month, the Marble Bar welcomes back a favorite.  Stylistically manic, artistically brilliant, AJ Finney is an eclectic midwesterner with a passion for the psychedelic scene of the Sixties. Grammy winning virtuoso guitarist and composer John Jorgensen and his Quintet start from the dynamic, high energy swing driven “Gypsy Jazz” of Django Reinhardt, then add elements of Latin, Romanian, Rock, Classical & Greek sounds into “21st Century World Music”, exploring Django’s musical influence on major pop guitarists from McCartney to Les Paul to Keith Richards, and many more. This weekend catch three different Humphrey Bogart movie each night! Maltese Falcon, the film that defined film noir and when Bogart achieved true stardom as Sam Spade, tells the tale of a hardboiled SanFrancisco private eye who can be as unscrupulous as the next guy but also adheres to his own personal code of honor. Jeffery Foucault

One of the finest songwriters of his generation, Jeffrey Foucault has taken, in his own words, ‘the small roads;’ building a brick and mortar independent international touring career of ten studio albums, countless miles and critical accolades. Flosstradamus

Currently based in Brooklyn, Flosstradamus (AKA Curt Cameruci) came to prominence in Chicago while collaborating with acts such as Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, A-Trak, and Baauer. In the last few years they've collaborated with the likes of G.T.A, Lil' Jon, Waka Flocka Flame, Post Malone, and Travis Porter. Family Workshop
10 a.m., Aspen Art Museum

These drop-in sessions are designed to provide children and adults an opportunity to explore the galleries and create works of art of their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together. Workshops begin in the Education Workshop, giving families choices for self-guided or Educator-led activities and art-making stations. This month in partnership with Ascendigo Autism Services, AAM will host an additional special session (9 a.m.) focused on a a sensory-friendly guided gallery tour. All Family Workshops are first come, first served for families with children ages 3–10 and also include refreshments. Free, aspenartmuseum.org

PostSecret: The Show

Dirty Revival

This year, the Owl Creek Chase will have a new course and distance utilizing the best snow in town on Aspen High School's Nordic trails. Choose from a 5K, 10K, 2-person Relay, 5K Wood Ski Division, or a 1K kids race. Che Malambo
7:30 p.m., Wheeler Opera House

The powerhouse all-male Argentinian dance company excites audiences with their percussive dance and music spectacle. Malambo, a dynamic blend of precision footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming and song, is at the heart of the gaucho (South American cowboy) tradition and is now thrilling audiences around the world with this new production created by renowned choreographer Gilles Brinas. Malambo began in the 17th century as competitive duels that tested skills of agility, strength and dexterity among the gaucho. It soon evolved to include its hallmark, zapeteo, the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping horses.
