History Ski Tour

Ullr Nights

 

5–9 p.m., Snowmass

Bundle up and ride the Snowmass gondola ($10) to some family-friendly snow play, including the new Breathtaker mountain coaster and lift-served tubing ($49 for a two-hour activities pass to access both; reserve in advance), free ice skating, free snowshoe tours with a guide from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (6 and 7:30 p.m.), snowbiking ($72 guided rides for ages 12 and up, free minibikes for younger kids), and climbing and sliding on a massive snow sculpture. First Friday in Carbondale: Screening of Colorado ArtBeat Film Series

This documentary film produced by Chris and Heather Macdonald of FuseMedia recognizes five Colorado-based artists—Gregory Block, Robert Burch, Linda Girvin, Joshua Goss, and Sara Ransford. The six-time 2010 Tony Award–winning play Red comes to Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley campus. This Jazz Aspen Snowmass show is filled with several talented musicians. Roger Kellaway is a Grammy Award winner and an Academy Award–nominated pianist and composer who has recorded more than 250 albums in his career. Brazilian vocalist and guitarist Téka blends the sounds of her home country with jazz, calling the fusion New Bossa. Composer and saxophonist Tom Scott is a three-time Grammy Award winner who used to be a member of the Blues Brothers and also founded the jazz group L.A. Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race
