Aspen Weekend Agenda: June 15–17, 2018

In case you hadn't noticed the impressive white tents around town, this is your friendly reminder that the Food & Wine Classic takes place this weekend. There are so many events taking place around it that we gave them their very own article. For everything else going on around town and in the valley, keep reading.

Friday, June 15

Historic Downtown Walking Tour of Aspen
10:30 a.m., Wheeler Opera House
Even if you think you know everything about town, you're sure to learn something new on this two-hour guided walking tour of the historic buildings, sites, and stories around every corner in downtown Aspen. $15/adult, $12/senior, children 18 and under free, aspenhistory.org

Red Butte Cemetery Tour
1:30 p.m., Red Butte Cemetery, Aspen
Learn about former citizens of Aspen who made their marks on history during this one-hour stroll through the town’s storied Red Butte Cemetery. $15/adult, $12/senior, children 18 and under free, aspenhistory.org

Studio for Arts + Works Summer Open House
5-9 p.m., Saw Studio, Carbondale

Yankee Tavern

Summer Library Cinema: Back to Burgundy

Honky Tonkin' with Citizen Twang

Saturday, June 16

Join Brake the Cycle for a ride against poverty in Africa right here in Aspen on Saturday morning. The fun kicks off at 8 a.m. at CycleBar.

Get ready to sweat at this inaugural charity ride to raise money for bicycles and fresh water in Africa. The ride includes DJ beats guaranteed to make you pedal faster, post-ride mimosas, a CycleBar water bottle and event t-shirt. Aspen Parkrun
8 a.m., Aspen Recreation Center
Every Saturday, the Aspen Recreation department hosts weekly 5K timed runs. The course will follow the High School Trail through the school district to the Marolt Open Space, continue over the Castle Creek foot bridge, and then return. Parkrun is an international movement that encourages communities to sponsor free runs open to all. Free, parkrun.us/aspen 

Aspen Saturday Market

Stroll the booths, listen to live music, enjoy delicious food, adopt a puppy, and select from fresh produce, cheeses, artisanal meats, and artistic offerings. New for this year, Aspen Shakti will have a booth with a 20-minute meditation session at 9:30 ($5 for the meditation session). Remember to bring a bag to carry your purchases. Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic

Play ball! Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Legends for Youth baseball clinic. Former Major League Baseball players will teach baseball skills, drills, and life lessons. Free, advance registration is required, www.baseballalumni.com 
 
121st Annual Strawberry Days Festival

Victorian West End Walking Tour
