Aspen Weekend Agenda: June 8–10, 2018

The Flaming Lips, Snowmass Rendezvous Craft Beer Fest, Aspen Fringe Festival, and a multimedia dance production at the Wheeler highlight a stacked weekend.

Friday, June 8

Ragnar Trail Snowmass
9:30am, Town of Snowmass Village Rec Center (a.k.a. Ragnar Village)
In this 24-hour test of endurance and cooperation from Friday to Saturday, each member of a four- or eight-member relay team runs three different trail loops, starting and ending in Town Park. Registration closed in May, but cheering on the racers is a no-sweat way to take part. runragnar.com

Summer Library Cinema: Borg vs McEnroe
7:30 p.m., Dunaway Room at the Pitkin County Library
Summer Library Cinema revisits the summer of 1980 and the ultimate showdown at Wimbledon. $10 for admission/free popcorn, Pitkin County Library

Aspen Fringe Festival: ka·nei·see | collective's Readymade
7:30 p.m., Black Box Theater, Aspen High School

Nu.topia: Tour the Mystery
8 p.m., Wheeler Opera House

This multimedia, immersive dance production conceived by local Loren Wilder was inspired by the music of the Beatles and John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s imaginary country of peace. Performers include dancers from the University of Utah and Colorado Ballet, along with trapeze artists. $15 students, $25 adults, aspenshowtix.com

Tacos, Salsa & Bachata

Aspen's DarkSide Ghost Tour
9 p.m., Aspen
Aspen's history isn't all Teslas and fresh toro. Start your evening by diving into true tales of "ghosts, murder, and mayhem" from 1879 to today on this 60-minute walking tour. Reservations required. $25 children, $35 adults, AspenWalkingTours.com

Saturday, June 9

Aspen Parkrun
8 a.m., Aspen Recreation Center
Every Saturday, the Aspen Recreation department hosts weekly 5K timed runs. The course will follow the High School Trail through the school district to the Marolt Open Space, continue over the Castle Creek foot bridge, and then return. Parkrun is an international movement that encourages communities to sponsor free runs open to all. Free, parkrun.us/aspen

Snowmass Automobili Exotica Cars and Caffeine
9 a.m., Base Village 
Come out and ogle some 100 European sports cars displayed on the Base Village lawn. Their owners drove up from the Denver area en masse with enthusiast club 3zero3 Motorsports and will also participate in scenic mountain drives and track driving at the Aspen Mountainsports Park while here. 7th Annual Bonedale Skate Revival
10 a.m., North Face Sk8 Park, Carbondale
Test your skateboarding skills against others in the valley at this annual competition. All participants under 18 will need a parent to sign the liability waiver, and helmets are mandatory for those participants, too. Snowmass Rendezvous Craft Beer Festival
3 p.m., Snowmass Village Mall  
The third annual Snowmass Rendezvous Craft Beer Festival brings together more than 30 Colorado craft breweries for a day of tastings and live music. The festival culminates in the first event of the Snowmass Free Concert Series, with Kyle Emerson opening, followed by the Drunken Hearts playing into the evening. $35 for grand tasting, www.snowmassbeer.com

Snowmass Free Concert Series: The Drunken Hearts

Pedaleando Community Bike Ride
