Ah, Aspen's quiet season, when it's easy to find a parking spot, you recognize more people than not on your hikes, and pretty much everyone takes a collective recovery breath. The one zen interrupter is that many restaurants close their doors for a much-needed break before the winter season begins, meaning deciding where to eat out can feel like a game of chance.
Thankfully, though, a surprising number of good options exist; plus, this can be a great excuse to try somewhere new. Many places also offer tempting discounts and special menus. In Snowmass, shoulder-season choices are Black Saddle Bar & Grille, Mountain Bayou, Sage at Snowmass Club, Taster's Pizza, and Zane's Tavern. Vue Lounge and Snowmass Kitchen, both located in the Westin, are also open.
