On winter weekends we love waking up with “The Lift,” Aspen 82’s live on-mountain show, for the rundown of conditions and happenings before hitting the slopes.
This season, longtime host Oliver Sharpe is bringing viewers an all new program celebrating the art of aprés ski. Aptly named “Aprés,” its premiere show on December 16 kicked-off the holidays with guests Chef Ryan Hardy of Charlie Bird in New York, wine director Carlton McCoy of The Little Nell, and editor-in-chief Henrik Lampert of Freeskier Magazine.
Aspen 82 owner and executive producer Spencer McKnight says of the addition to the lineup, “We’re beyond excited about our latest show, which will give viewers an in-depth look at more of the fun, food, drink, music, and culture in Aspen’s legendary aprés and nightlife.”
As the official television partner of Aspen Skiing Company, “Aprés" broadcasts live from the patio at Ajax Tavern, Chair 9 at The Little Nell, and on Aspen Mountain with Sharpe playing tour guide. Also the food columnist for the Aspen Daily News, Sharpe’s passion and knowledge on Aspen’s culinary scene shines through.
“‘Aprés’ will give us an opportunity to have more in depth conversations with our guests while providing an interactive atmosphere, which will help keep things fresh. Plus, drinking cocktails is generally more accepted in the afternoon ... even in Aspen,” says Sharpe.
After you hit the powder today, catch Twyla co-founders Katie Kiernan and Chris Martin, professional snowboarder and Stoyach founder Doran Layborn, head sommelier at The Little Nell Chris Dunaway and Jimmy’s owner Jimmy Yeager.
Watch new episodes of "Aprés" every Friday at 4:30 p.m. on channel 82 or stream it live at aspen82.com.
