They’re a far cry from the gunny sack dresses and Frye boots popular with Aspen’s bohemian babes in 1973, but these Valentino high heels draw their inspiration from the same year.
For the printed calfskin leather sandals from the Resort 2015 collection, Valentino’s current creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, re-editioned an original 1973 print designed by the fashion house’s founder, Valentino Garavani. The vivid Candy Land colors and varnished plexiglass high heels transport even the most normcore outfit somewhere over the rainbow, way up high.
