BLK MKT Brings Bali to Aspen

Part of the creative collective presented by Gravity Productions that’s taken up residency in the former Crystal Palace space on Hyman Ave. since January, BLK MKT’s Balinese-inspired apparel and accessories have quickly become hot items around town this winter. The pop-up shop is the brainchild of clothing designers Mike Delaney and Sammy Steen, who spend springs producing their collection in Indonesia, summers commercial fishing in Alaska, and winters in Colorado. In Aspen, they’re showcasing their own label, ROAM, along with Balinese-made brands exclusive to the shop, including Heathen Clothing, Blamo Toys, Aleph Geddis, and Eleven44 Designs—bringing a refreshing urban energy to the shopping mix in town.
“Aspen has really been a perfect match for us,” says Steen. “We’re not just selling rare, handmade products; we’re creating a culture here. All of us back in Bali share a warehouse and work together, so there’s an edge and authenticity that comes along with that.” Look for the store to be here through March.
