Buff ThermoNet Multifunctional Headwear

The most common way I wear the multifunctional Buff is as a neck gaiter–it locks in warmth, prevents chilly drafts and zipper chafe, and pulls up over my lower face on blustery days. Yet, with gaiters made of fleece or more traditional fabrics, breathing into it is when the frozen wet spots happen. You can spin the gaiter around, but you're still going to feel that wet spot somewhere, and, trust me, it sucks.
Enter the Buff Thermonet, made with breathable, wicking Primaloft yarn. It provides lightweight, breathable warmth; dries quickly; and, best of all, doesn't freeze. I've tested it while skinning and skiing, as well as during lift-served skiing and winter runs. The seamless construction prevents hot spots, and the top and bottom fold over on themselves, providing welcome yet comfortable staying power when you pull the Buff over your mouth (incredibly useful during cold-weather runs). On really frigid days, it fits comfortably under a helmet. Or wear it as a hat or headband. Multifunctional, for sure. $27, buffusa.com
