Cheers to 50 Years

The French 75–a classic cocktail made with gin, champagne, lemon, and simple syrup—is elegant enough to toast something like, say, a golden anniversary, but made with just a few simple, high-quality ingredients, to seem casual yet refined. That also might describe The Gant, a 140-unit condominium complex (some say Aspen’s first) sprawling over five acres at the base of Aspen Mountain, which is celebrating its 50th summer with a signature cocktail dubbed the “Gant 73” for the year the resort opened.
Pepperjack’s (named after a fox that begged for scraps outside the restaurant’s back door during the resort’s early days) overlooks the pool and serves breakfast (i.e., Ajax avocado toast with a Rocky Mountain Bloody Mary) and lunch (poblano grilled chicken on brioche paired with an Aspen Brewing Company ale) seven days a week. Don’t miss the throwback-to-the-1970s wall of fame that’s covered in retro photos from The Gant’s memorable first decade.
Other anniversary offerings include rooftop afternoon tea (reservations required) and live music every Wednesday through the summer, as well as airport transfer and in-town shuttle service via a fleet of gold-wrapped Gant Vans. After all, you’re only 50 once. gantaspen.com
