Kate and Chris Roberts opened their home for a cocktail reception and auction in support of the Marshall Direct Fund, named in honor of the Marshall Plan and dedicated to diplomacy and investing in war-weary people and ventures abroad. The organization welcomed special guest Shahbaz Taseer for an intimate interview about his five years in captivity—a problem on the rise as a means to fund the Taliban's extremist activities.
