Snagging tickets in advance, over 1,300 community members made Aspen Center for Environmental Studies’ 15th Annual Harvest Party another sellout at Rock Bottom Ranch in Basalt. Biking up or down the Rio Grande Trail on an Indian summer Saturday was the perfect way to get to the official, car free-event with shuttles from RFTA’s Basalt Park & Ride also available.
Idyllic is the only way to describe an afternoon filled with family friendly activities across its 113-acre property, which is a working hub for environmental education, wildlands preservation, and sustainable agriculture. Pumpkin carving, press your own cider, hay rides, lawn games, and face painting—plus, plenty of time with farm animals—had the kids in heaven. Smoke Modern Barbecue served up the classics for guests to enjoy picnic-style by the pond with live music from the Caleb Dean Band. All proceeds from ticket sales support year-round initiatives with the silent auction benefiting ACES Ed, its environmental science education programs, which serves over 50 schools in the Roaring Fork Valley.
