On May 5, Thunder River Theatre Company (TRTC) was off to the races at its sold-out 2018 Derby Day Gala at the Orchard in Carbondale. Guests dressed to the nines in their best oversized and decorated hats, floral dresses, and jockey-inspired garb.

 

Festivities included mint juleps from Marble Distilling Co.; a silent auction; Derby-inspired hors d'oeuvres and dinner prepared by Chef Jimmy Nadell; a live paddle raise benefiting TRTC's programs, with a matching challenge gift from Integrated Mountain Group; and a Running of the Ponies fundraising game.

 

Entertainment and revelry were provided by TRTC's Consensual Improv! comedy troupe and Diva Cabaret singers, while Alpine Bank was chosen as this year's honoree of TRTC's Community Partner Award.
