The Keller Prize

Shelly Hamill and Nicholas James Ducasse
The Keller Prize is an annual, international art contest founded by artist Shelly Hamill. It is named after her grandmother, Jane Keller, a Texas landscape painter known for her depictions of the state flower: the bluebonnet. The judge for this year’s competition is Nicholas James Ducasse—the gallery director for Eden Gallery in Aspen. Nicholas is half English and half French, born and raised in St. Germain en Laye, just outside Paris. His background includes studies in drama, acting, singing, and art history. He has been a gallery director in St. Tropez, France; Marbella, Spain; Verbier, Switzerland; London, England; Mykonos, Greece; Miami Florida, and now Aspen. He brings a worldly view with a keen eye to The Keller Prize. The grand prize winner and two runners-ups will be featured in Aspen Sojourner magazine’s Winter/Spring 2023-24 issue. Every artist who submits will be shown on The Keller Prize website gallery and on social media. For more information on The Keller Prize, visit thekellerprize.com.
