The Faces of Aspen’s Next Generation
The Aspen Youth Center, born from student vision, continues to provide a vital and safe space for local youth.

The Aspen Youth Center (AYC) provides a safe space for youth in grade 4-12 to connect, learn, and grow during out-of-school hours. Its youth-driven origin entails a group of passionate high school students who saw the need and pursued their own study to learn from their peers what the ideal youth center might encompass. Their work materialized into AYC opening in 1991 downtown. Today, the AYC remains a thriving, youth-driven, independent nonprofit located within the Aspen Rec Center.
