Culinary showmanship reigns at The Little Nell this winter as Element 47 offers an array of mobile dining and drink presentations boasting European flair. Joining the restaurant’s popular rolling cart of frothy margaritas poured beneath plumes of liquid nitrogen are several newcomers, each custom crafted of cedar. One cart features a selection of artisanal cheese, cut by a designated fromagier and served with local honey and house-made peach preserves ($9–$37). Guests thirsty for boudoir beverages may command a rolling stocked bar en suite ($16–$32)—a barkeep pours one of four timeless cocktails to order, dah-ling. Most excellent, though, is the dramatic duck pressé à l’orange by cart ($127 for two people, 24-hour advance reservation required). The bird is roasted whole, then the breast removed for finishing in the kitchen. At the table, pieces of the duck are crushed in a steel apparatus to remove the jus, which is flambéed with fresh orange zest and Hennessy cognac. Et voilà: dinner and a show. 675 E.
