Celebrating four decades of inspiring cinema, Aspen Film, established in 1979, remains one of Colorado’s most active film arts organizations, offering year-round dynamic programs and featured guest artists throughout the year. The arts nonprofit presents a major film event each season—Filmfest, Academy Screenings, and Shortsfest—in addition to the year-round FilmEducates program for students and teachers throughout three counties. From September 23 to 29, Aspen Film will host its 40th Filmfest, a noncompetitive festival showcasing narrative and documentary features, a dynamic mix of award-worthy fall previews, and acclaimed independent films from the international festival circuit.
