For over 50 years, Aspen Valley Land Trust has been committed to protecting our treasured places, flowing rivers, and community connections to nature. And a big part of our job is to ensure this commitment to future generations is kept forever.

This spring, AVLT has hosted several community engagement meetings to find out what concerns and hopes for the future are top of mind in our communities. This feedback is now informing AVLT’s first regional conservation plan, which examines natural resource data as well as public input to guide the future of conservation from Independence Pass to the Roan Plateau.

Inspiring the next Generation of Land Stewards

Kids. Nature. Freedom. When local teachers learn about the Chapin Wright Marble Basecamp, nestled high in the Elks just outside the town of Marble, imaginations run wild with opportunities for their students. Basecamp offers a place to engage students from Aspen to Glenwood in a unique experience—an outdoor adventure that connects kids with nature, each other, and their best selves.
